There was an abundance of
* talking
* reading of magazine articles on ways to get your man to...
* eating of junk food (thanks D for the cookies)
* talking
* quiet time
* girly movie watching
* talking
* taking in our 5-star surroundings, which came compliments of some very generous in-laws with a time share
* stories about husbands, marriage, and kids
* lounging by the pool under an umbrella that the pool guy brought out of pity for my pregnant belly (if you can't look sexy by the pool, you might as well look pitiable)
* talking
There was a tad bit of
* missing of children
* calls/texts home to touch base
* sleep
And there was a refreshing lack of
* "mama, mama, mama, mama, mama, MAMA!"
* "Can I...?"
* cutting up of food into bite size pieces (although one peach fell victim to the habit)
* clock-watching
* stress induced by nap schedules
* interrupted conversations
* early morning, messy-haired alarm clocks asking for breakfast
* milk served in sippy cups
* reading of kids' menus
* stroller pushing
* timeouts
And given the fact that we had two sets of family in town this weekend, I did miss being at home with everyone and partaking of the craziness here. However, it was very nice to spend some time with my girls at a place like this.
